Supertankers entering the Port of Long Beach will use ABB’s marine software to produce real-time data of the keel-to-seabed clearance, improving the safety and efficiency of the operations. Sensors fitted to Tesoro vessels will send information to a Portable Surveyor Box (PSB), carried by the pilot, which will verify their route to the dock.

MarineFields and Inmarsat sign MOU on collaborative decision making project to digitalise port call information
MarineFields and Inmarsat (LSE:ISAT.L) have signed an MOU to partner in investigating how sea traffic management and satellite connectivity can make port calls more efficient for all stakeholders through improved information sharing, situational awareness, optimised processes, and collaborative decision making.

The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has appointed Duane Kenagy as the Port of Long Beach’s Deputy Executive Director.
