Norwegian Greentech awarded BWTS contracts

Norwegian Greentech has been awarded several contracts to deliver a total of ten new ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) to various undisclosed shipyards and shipowners in Norway, Spain and the Netherlands.

The majority of the BWTS systems will be delivered to newbuild vessels, including cable laying vessels, dive support vessels, offshore support vessels and live fish carriers.

The company will also retrofit a BWTS system on board a well intervention vessel.

“We are honoured to have been awarded these contracts and look forward to delivering our compact, energy-efficient UV- and filter-based BWTS,” said Lars-Tore Lynge, sales manager at Norwegian Greentech. “This solution is increasingly preferred by shipowners across multiple segments.”

Most of the equipment deliveries will be made during 2026 and 2027.

The BWTS systems will be assembled at the company’s headquarter in Fosnavåg, Norway.

“We are seeing slightly improved newbuild activity for offshore vessels on the back of continued high investments within oil and gas and offshore wind. Newbuild activity for aquaculture vessels has picked up significantly in recent years,” said Børge Gjelseth, SVP Commercial at Norwegian Greentech. “This creates opportunities for reliable suppliers of vital equipment.”

Norwegian Greentech is a supplier of ballast water treatment systems and other systems for purification of water for use in the aquaculture industry and in the maritime sector. The company is a subsidiary of HAV Group ASA, which is listed on Euronext Growth Oslo, Norway.
