WEC Lines has unveiled the enhanced NWC Portugal and NWC Canary Islands weekly services, connecting Portugal, Spain and the Canary Islands with Northern Europe in a fast, reliable & fully controlled operation.
WEC Lines has revamped both services to ensure shorter transit times and fixed-day, on-time departures. The strategically designed services encompass key ports; the NWC Portugal (NWC PT) service includes Rotterdam, Moerdijk, Antwerp, Vigo, Leixões, Setúbal and Montoir while the NWC Canary Islands (NWC CAI) service includes Hamburg, Thamesport, Moerdijk, Bilbao, Vigo, Leixões, Las Palmas, Santa Cruz, and Sines.
Increased flexibility & efficiency
The upgraded NWC Canary Islands service will be operated with three 868-TEU owned vessels in a 21-day rotation, arriving in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria on Thursdays and Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Fridays with regular transshipment to Puerto de Rosario and Arrecife. A new Hamburg call has been included in the fixed rotation, enabling a 5-day transit time ex Leixões or an 8-to-9-day transit ex Canary Islands, and ex Hamburg to Bilbao, Leixões and Canary Islands in 6, 9 and 12-13 days, respectively.

Continuous connectivity enhancements
The NWC Portugal service will be performed by two 1,000-TEU owned vessel in a fixed 14-day rotation. Besides Moerdijk, the revised NWC Portugal service will now also include weekly Vigo and Thamesport calls. Departing Thamesport on Thursdays, arriving in Leixões on Fridays, the service provides clients with a heightened level of flexibility and efficiency, such as rapid end-mile delivery.

Seamless inland Spain connections
In addition to providing a fast and sustainable alternative to trucking into Spain and the Canary Islands, the NWC CAI service calling Hamburg on Saturdays, Thamesport on Mondays, and Moerdijk on Tuesdays, seamlessly integrates with connections to the Spanish hinterland between Bilbao and Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, Zaragoza, and Agoncillo (La Rioja).
